"Providing leadership to serve our members, protect
their interests, promote business for a strong Alliance"
is the mission statement for the Alliance Chamber of
Commerce.
"The mission statement, as well
as everything else we focus on, all
focuses back to member benefits and
what we can do for our members,"
said R. Mark Locke, president and
secretary of the chamber.
In recent years, the chamber has
added many new member benefit
programs to better serve its members.
A three-month savings on
advertising on WDPN/Q92 and
discounted advertising in The Review
headline the list. Among the other
opportunities include a group health
plan with as few as two individuals,
an opportunity to participate in
a workers' compensation plan,
discounted rates on business
insurance, long distance and local dial tone services, free
listing in the community guide, a discount at the Alliance
YMCA, Web site design and creation and a SWAT analysis
introduction meeting at a discount.

The chamber also introduced a gift certificate program called
Certifichecks. According to Locke, the gift certificates can be
purchased by anyone but can only be used at participating
chamber members to help reinforce the
strong belief in buying locally.
"We are a membership organization,"
said Locke. "We rely heavily on
businesses joining the Chamber, which is
why our benefit program is so important."
The chamber is divided into six
divisions: Insurance, Manufacturers/
Personnel, Realtors, Retail/Service,
Medical and Women's divisions. The
divisions allow members to focus on
issues that primarily concern them.
Chamber members can attend
Chamber-wide events such as the
annual meeting, business after hours,
the Business Alliance Awards Luncheon
and the annual golf tournament.
The newly updated web site makes it
easier to join, make reservations and find
out about chamber events.
