The Alliance
Senior Citizens
Center is a
non-profit organization
geared toward meeting
the needs within the
Alliance community and
surrounding areas.
The center is a selfsupporting
organization
that derives its income
from special dinners
and programs including
the bingo program and
the tour department.
The special dinners and
programs are planned
throughout the year and
are generally open to the public.
A ladies luncheon along with seasonal dinners are
typically the most attended events. The bingo program
is held every Monday and Thursday night and is open to
the public. Tours are planned throughout the year and
range from one-day tours to overnight and extended tours.
Members receive first access to the tours before they are
opened to the general public.
The senior clubs meet on a regular basis and include
AARP, Carnation Retirees, Alliance Senior Citizen Club,
Retired Genies. The Christian Women meet regularly and
new members are always welcomed.
The center's top goal is socialization and gathering
seniors from the city of Alliance and surrounding areas.
Individuals gather regularly for shuffleboard, ping pong,
line dancing, chorus, karaoke, harmonica and card playing
activities. Also offered are a variety of free services including
eye screenings, hearing clinics, legal-aid appointments,
income tax preparation along with flu and pneumonia clinics
in conjunction with the city's health department.
Over the course of each year, numerous activities and
functions are held at the center to encourage senior citizen
participation. No membership is required, however, joining
gives members benefits including a monthly newsletter that
provides a detailed list of activities and tours for the month
along with the prices for events. The cost of becoming a
member is $15 for a single and $20 for a couple.
The center's staff features four full-time employees thus
